Cupcake is all about creating events where we are able to meet other singles - like ourselves - in a nice environment that is comfortable, not awkward.
Our upcoming Singles Mixer and Wine Tasting is just that, so get ready to spend an evening at a very nice location with lots of wine, fun, and time and space to meet and connect with other awesome singles.
What’s a Mixer?
A mixer is nothing more than a fancy American word for party – typically a cocktail party, where you go to mix and mingle and meet others. Cupcake Mixers are a blend between a party and a speed-dating event, where all guests are given the chance to personally meet each other, but the atmosphere is more party-like and relaxed than the usual speed-dating event. Because let’s be honest, we’re there to meet people, but we want to have fun at the same time, right? That’s what happens at a Mixer.
Why wine?
We all know that a party isn’t a party without drinks. And we also know that having a drink in hand makes meeting new people a lot less awkward. A nice venue and friendly hosts are also ingredients for a great party, which is why I’ve selected Cavaissimo. Owners Dave and Franziska regularly host events and are looking forward to introducing us to the world of Cava, Spanish sparkling wine. So not only will we have a great time getting to know each other, but we’ll get to sample some delicious wines as well, and probably even learn a little something about wine that we didn’t know before.
What should I expect?
Here’s the evening plan:
7:00-7.30 Arrival, first glass of bubbly, introduction to Cupcake Dating, the event and the hosts
7:30-8:00 First round of wine sampling and meeting (we’ll break up into small groups to sample each of the wines and meet each of the other guests)
8:00-8:15 Break! (time to snack, mix and mingle, freshen up, smoke, breathe … )
8:30-9:00 Second round of wine sampling and meeting(by the end of the evening everyone will have met each other, no one will leave a stranger!)
9:00-9:30 Last round of drinks (a.k.a., finishing up the lovely bottles of Cava we’ve already opened), chatting, and dessert (cupcakes, of course!)
Altogether, we will be enjoying and learning about three different wines throughout the evening – from light and fruity young Cavas, to the Gran Reserva variety, which is a bottle-ripened wine aged for at least thirty months.
